What CEFR levels mean for Georgian
The CEFR scale (A1 to C2) is the standard European way of describing language ability, and Georgia's Ministry of Education has published an official Reference Level Description for Georgian built on it. In everyday terms: at A1 you can greet, introduce yourself and read the script. At A2 you handle daily life, shops, taxis and simple past-tense stories. At B1 you hold real conversations and follow a supra toast. At B2 you follow native-speed TV and argue a point. Beyond that sits the long, happy road toward near-native comfort.
Our test places you on that scale using four short stages: a rapid vocabulary check against the 5,000 most common Georgian words, an adaptive set of grammar and reading puzzles, a listening section with native-natural audio, and an optional typing bonus. If you cannot read Georgian yet, a short spoken-recognition track gives you a warm, honest starting point instead.
It is transparent about its limits: it does not test speaking or writing, and the top band is reported as B2+ because our question bank stops there and separating the levels above it requires productive skills.
