EasyGeorgian launches a complete, modern course for the language the big apps skipped

EasyGeorgian, a language learning platform built in Tbilisi, launched publicly this week after two years of development. It is the first complete, modern course for Georgian, a language that every major language learning platform has left out.

None of the large apps teach Georgian. Learners who move to Georgia have had to choose between textbooks, word lists and private teachers, while demand for the language keeps growing among the country’s expanding international community: expats, foreign spouses of Georgians, diplomats, NGO staff and heritage learners abroad.

EasyGeorgian launches with two full courses. Speak Georgian in 50 Days is a 50-lesson audio course that has complete beginners speaking out loud from the first lesson, built on structured audio with prompted speech and spaced repetition. Advance to Georgian Mastery is a 100-episode listening course in slow, clear Georgian with full transcripts, designed to grow vocabulary and comprehension after the first course. Both include flashcard decks with audio and images on every card, and a free 56-minute video that teaches the Georgian alphabet in a single sitting.

“I moved to Tbilisi in 2021 and spent three years getting nowhere with what was available for Georgian,” says Lasse, who founded EasyGeorgian with his wife Tamar. “The tools the modern language industry builds for other languages simply did not exist for this one. So we built them.”

“Georgian deserves the same quality of course that the big languages get,” says Tamar. “Every lesson was made and checked by Georgians before it shipped.”

The courses are one-time purchases rather than subscriptions: $79.95 per course or $139.95 for both. The first lesson and the alphabet video are free with an account.
